Is your theme fresh? ...good for using Moodle Mobile? ...responsive?
If you haven't thought about the look and feel of your Open LMS site and how it works for people using it on mobile devices, then perhaps it's time!
There have been many changes with Moodle themes. For easy upgrading and simplicity, eWorks recommend using Boost or Snap themes.
Step One
Check what theme you are currently using. To do this, go to Administration> Site administration> Appearance> Themes> Theme selector. If you change the settings for this theme, then when you save the changes, you will affect any people who may be using your site!
Don't annoy others!
Each of the themes can be 'customised' to brand your TVC site. It's a good idea to test this 'locally' ie just on your own computer - you don't want to confuse any people who may be working on your Open LMS Moodle!
To work locally, you need to temporarily change your site's theme by adding some text to your URL. Go to any course, then add &theme=XXX to the end of the URL, where XXX is either boost, snap or classic (remember, only change to a theme you are not currently using). For example:
- eg xxx.trainingvc.com.au/course/view.php?id=4, then make it trainingvc.com.au/course/view.php?id=4&theme=boost
Once you have done this, you will see your site as if you have a different theme, but anyone else using the site will not be affected.
Step Two
To change the settings for each of these three themes, go to Administration> Site administration> Appearance> Themes, then click on Boost, Snap or Classic.
Once you have sorted out the theme as you want it to be, then you can save your settings, and then change your theme to the theme you want to use by going to Administration> Site administration> Appearance> Themes> Theme selector, click on 'Change theme' and then 'Use theme' next to the theme you want to use. Remember to warn your users, and do this when there are not many people using the site.
If this all sounds a bit much, please feel free to ask eWorks for assistance.
