Hide users in the Participants section of the Navigation block

You can limit students to only seeing their own name in the Participants section of the Navigation block by:

1. go to the course
2. go to Administration> Course administration> Users> Permissions
3. type 'participants' in the filter box
4. for the permission 'View participants', click on the X next to the role eg student - see attached screen shot

This will mean that users with the deleted role will not see other participants in the Navigation block.
