Proposed Moodle upgrade dates for 2026

Please find the proposed release dates for updates to your LMS.
 

These releases are primarily minor updates from Moodle, except where noted as Snap Theme updates. Since they focus on bug fixes and security enhancements, we anticipate that they will be low-risk and have minimal impact on end-users.

Please note that the Sandbox upgrades will be applied to your Sandbox environment as soon as Moodle provides the release to Catalyst.
 

Moodle 4.5.8 Release

• Sandbox Upgrade: Tuesday, December 8, 2025, 02:00 AM - 3:00 AM AEST
• Production Upgrade: Wednesday, January 14, 2026, 02:00 AM - 3:00 AM AEST
   

Moodle 4.5.9 Release

• Sandbox Upgrade: 

  Approximately Tuesday, February 10, 2026, 02:00 AM - 3:00 AM AEST

• Production Upgrade: Week Commencing February 25, 2026

  (Exact dates will be shared via comms 2 weeks prior. The upgrade will occur between 02:00 AM and 3:00 AM AEST on the specified date).

   

Moodle 4.5.10 Release

• Sandbox Upgrade: 
  Approximately Tuesday, April 7, 2026, 02:00 AM - 3:00 AM AEST

• Production Upgrade: Week Commencing April 20, 2026

  (Exact dates will be shared via comms 2 weeks prior. The upgrade will occur between 02:00 AM and 3:00 AM AEST on the specified date).
   

Moodle 4.5.11 Release + Snap Theme update (if available)

• Sandbox Upgrade: 
  Approximately Tuesday, June 9, 2026, 02:00 AM - 3:00 AM AEST

• Production Upgrade: Week Commencing June 29, 2026

Moodle 4.5.12 Release

• Production Upgrade: Week Commencing August 24, 2026
