- The information for Open Reports is gathered via a combination of the Collect block, other tables that keep track of stats and the Standard log table. Open Reports do not make use of Legacy logstore data.
- It's not usually recommended practice to enable Legacy logs unless there is a reason for doing so. Such reasons could include plugins that depend on them, SQL reports that require information from the Legacy log table, or perhaps there are attributes in the Legacy table that aren't present in Standard. Standard logs are quite detailed and generally sufficient enough. See here for more info: https://docs.moodle.org/34/en/Logging
- It's hard to say how much storage legacy logs take up because it depends on how much has been logged. It's safe to say the size of the data stored per entry would be roughly equivalent across standard and legacy. You could say having both enabled takes up approximately twice the space compared to just having one enabled.
